The Kellan Group uses a mentored structure to ‘Training the Trainer’. We have found that it increases the confidence of the trainers, presenters and subject matter experts if they are able to create support network with the participants as well as their peers.
The Kellan Group has a three step process in our Train the Trainer Methodology.
- The trainers attend the training sessions as participants. They will be asked to provide direct feedback on the content, the ease of use, applicability of content and to recommend improvements.
- The trainers will co-teach with a mentor or peer. They can choose the sections that they feel most comfortable teaching and work with the other presenter to ensure they fully understand the areas for improvement.
- The trainer will teach the class and be reviewed by a mentor or peers. The goal is to provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of the training session.
We have found that this approach to developing trainers leads to a cohesive group of trainers that are able to support the efforts of others.
